Application for Project Funding

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus

God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

At the beginning of 2009 the Council of the Lutheran Church in Great Britain received a generous grant of £28,000 from the Lutheran Council, on condition that part of this grant would be used by congregations for projects related to mission, development and education. Now we are inviting all our congregations and chaplaincies to consider ways in which they would like to grow and develop, and to apply for these funds to help them achieve their aims, dreams and visions. Our hope and fervent prayer is that, although we are not able to provide you with 'sufficiency in all things at all times', the grants, as well as the process of reflecting on projects your congregation might like to carry out, will indeed lead you to 'abound in every good work.'

I have therefore attached the final format that was agreed at the Council meeting on Saturday 3rd October 2009. This now needs to be communicated to your congregations for that purpose.

Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift! (2 Corinthians 9:15).

Yours in Christ

Bethphage

This year the LCiGB is encouraging its congregations to support the outstanding and valuable work of Bethphage UK, with a special collection to be taken at Harvest Festival. Bethphage, a charity of which the Lutheran Council is a member, provides care and support to people with disabilities, both physical and mental. This ranges from residential care for more profoundly disabled people, to supported living in the community for others. In each case the aim is to enable people to live to their full potential, and to be valued members of their communities. More information can be found at their excellent website
